NSW 190 occupation list: examples to check
The NSW list uses ANZSCO unit groups. These are selected examples, not a ranking or the complete list. Your specific occupation must also qualify for subclass 190 under Home Affairs rules.
| Area | Examples in listed NSW groups |
|---|---|
| Health | Registered Nurses, Midwives, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists |
| Construction | Civil Engineers, Carpenters and Joiners, Plumbers, Electricians |
| Early childhood | Early Childhood Teacher (241111), Child Care Centre Manager (134111) |
| Community services | Social Worker (272511), Community Worker (411711), Family Support Worker (411713), Youth Worker (411716) |
Can every childcare worker seek NSW 190 nomination?
No. Child Care Worker (421111) is different from Early Childhood Teacher and Child Care Centre Manager. Its unit group is not on the current NSW 190 list. A course title or job title alone does not establish migration eligibility.
What are the NSW residency checks?
For onshore consideration, NSW lists paid work in your nominated occupation in NSW for at least 20 hours a week, or at least six months of continuous NSW residence. For offshore consideration, it lists at least six months of continuous offshore residence. Applicants must meet the other NSW and federal visa requirements.
Does being listed guarantee an invitation?
No. Keep your SkillSelect EOI accurate and supporting documents valid. NSW assesses candidates competitively. If invited, the NSW nomination application must be submitted within 14 days. Do not rely solely on this pathway.
When is the next NSW 190 invitation round?
The official general guidance says rounds take place during the financial year without predetermined publicly announced dates. We are not publishing a specific next-round date without verifying the original NSW notice.
